Book Jacket Sleeve Design. The story chosen for this project is The Great Gatsby, a book that I read in one of my high school literature classes. Mainly inspired by the intricate 1920s deco-art, I researched into symbols and colors related to the story, eventually illustrating and combining these various elements together into a cohesive and elegant, dynamic design. Geometric forms and decorative patterns are utilized around the borders to give the composition a stylish, linear, sharp-edged look. The mysterious nightlife scenery in the front and back cover showcases hints of Gatsby’s life.
